Community Learning Projects

During Term 1 2024, the following CLPs have been developed by each of the School Teams attending the Gnurad-Gundidj Campus as part of their School for Student Leadership Program. These CLPs relate to their home and school communities.

Birchip P-12 School

Vision

To create an area at school where students can relax have a piece of fruit and recharge for their next class.

Movie night

Vision

To raise money for breast cancer by having a movie night with a entry fee and sausage sizzle. It will also be a great way for the people to catch up with each other.

Increasing Cultural Awareness

Vision

To increase cultural awareness in local primary schools by engaging with local Indigenous elders to implement interactive activities.

Renewal of the gratitude wall

Vision

To re-do the gratitude wall in DP hall, to normalise mental health and to spread positivity. It was also bring our school closer together.

Vision

To have a supportive community for people with mental health issues and to spread awareness of mental health issues/mental health.

Fundraiser for sports equipment

Vision

Since we’re a school with many students interested and motivated in sports and physical education, we feel that new and updated equipment will enhance the skills and passions of students.

Clothes drive for good

Vision

To run a clothes drive to donate to an organisation, this will help the people in need that the organisation works with and it will bring awareness to donating clothes instead of throwing them in the rubbish.

Get more younger kids into cricket to increase number in our junior side so there is a better competition.

Vision

Our vision is to work with McAuley to raise awareness and support victims of domestic, child and gender-based abuse.

“M.A.Cing our community better”

The CLP is the curriculum thread that runs in an adjoining and continuous manner through the program. It provides the purpose for attendance and the motivation for departure. Students are intrinsically connected to their projects, which aim to deliver an action outcome of their learning into their home communities.
